D Y Patil College of Engineering has received Best Chapter Award for year 2016 for Maharashtra and Goa Section in the 46th ISTE National Annual Convention held at Gulzar Group of Institutes, Ludhiana held during 10th -12th February 2017. The award was received by Dr B S Balapgol and ISTE Chapter Coordinator of the college.
Principal, Dr. D Y Patil College of Pharmacy, Dr Neeraj Vyawahare received the prestigious "International Research Award" for his contribution in the field of preclinical research on Indian Traditional Medicinal plants at International Ayurveda Research day conference, jointly organised by International Ayurveda Association, Ayurveda Academy, Societa Italiana (SIPKA RIMINI, ltaly), The Ayurveda Federation of South Africa (TAFSA)and Ayurveda Ayurvastu and ACHMA(Chile, South America), held at, ICC trade tower Senapati Bapat Road Pune on 5th Feb 2017.
In order to update and equip students with the basics of Health and Fitness, Ms. Rupal Sancheti, Director Sancheti Group and Member of Confederation of Indian Industry - Indian Women Network ( CII - IWN) Pune was invited to address the students of Dr. D. Y. Patil Educational Complex, Akurdi on "MILLENNIAL AND CHANGING HEALTHCARE TRENDS". Students participated in the session with full zeal and enthusiasm. The Expert Talk was conducted in Shantai Auditorium on 10th February 2017.
Vasant Panchami was celebrated on 1st Feb. 2017 (5th day of Magh Shukla) by performing Pooja of Goddess Saraswati. The Campus has a beautiful statue of Goddess Saraswati in white marble amidst the green lawns located at the centre of the campus. Goddess Saraswati was worshipped by Col S K Joshi, Campus Director, alongwith all the Principals of various Institutes in the campus. Pooja was performed by Dr. B S Balapgol, Principal of D Y Patil College of Engineering. All the faculty and students of the campus worshiped the Goddess of Knowledge on this occasion.
Graduation Ceremony of Savitribai Phule Pune University was conducted in Dr D Y Patil Educational Complex Akurdi, on 30th Jan 2017 for the students of five colleges in the campus, namely D Y Patil College of Engineering, Dr D Y Patil Institute of Engineering, Management and Research, Dr D Y Patil College of Pharmacy, Dr D Y Patil College of Applied Arts and Crafts and Dr D Y Patil College of Architecture. The honours of distribution of graduation certificates were done in the august presence of Dr Sanjay D Patil, President Dr D Y Patil Pratishthan, Kolhapur who addressed the students on the occasion. Campus Director, Principals of various colleges in the campus, Faculty members, Invitees and Graduate Students were present on this occasion.
68th Republic Day of India was celebrated at Dr D Y Patil Educational Complex, Akurdi, Pune with wholehearted participation of students and staff of the complex. Hon. Dr Sanjay D Patil, President of Dr D Y Patil Pratishthan, Kolhapur, hoisted the National Flag and addressed the gathering. He appreciated the efforts of Shri Satej D Patil, Chairman of the Educational Complex, and Col S K Joshi, Campus Director for the development of the campus. He urged the gathering to perform their duties sincerely as members of D Y Patil Group and contribute in nation building. The celebrations were marked by the presence of Col S K Joshi, trustees of Dr D Y Patil Pratishthan and Principals of various colleges in the campus. Students inspirational song and dance performances on this occasion were a tribute to the Nation on the Republic Day.
Prof. R. K. Shevgaonkar, Principal Investigator of NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning) visited Dr D Y Patil Educational Complex Akurdi, and addressed the gathering of eminent educationists of the region on the occasion of one day NPTEL Awareness Workshop jointly organized by D Y Patil College of Engg., Akurdi and IIT Bombay on 19th Jan 2017. He emphasized on the significance of ICT in higher education in the country for imparting quality education. He elaborated on the technological assistance provided by NPTEL and the changing role and responsibility of teachers to improve the GER (Gross Enrolement Ratio) for India to compete in the International Scenario. Participants were made aware of various courses offered by NPTEL and were encouraged for starting NPTEL local chapter.
Air Marshal Jasjit Singh Kler (VM) addressed the Faculty and Students of Dr D Y Patil Educational Complex Akurdi, on 3rd Jan 2017 with his motivational talk and inspired them to contribute for Nation Building.

On Monday 5th Sept. 2016 at Dr D Y Patil Educational Complex we were having Ganesh chaturthi celebrations with lots of enthusiasm.
Spacious canteen facility was inaugurated on 10th August 2016 at the hands of Campus Chairman Hon. Shri Satej D Patil Sir in the presence of Campus Director, Col.S K Joshi, Principals of various colleges of the campus, students and faculty. This spacious canteen is equipped with state of the art culinary facilities for preparing mouth watering dishes at reasonable rates as per students needs.
